On August 18, 2022, on the Aristegui news website, I pusblished that the president of the Citizen Council for Security and Justice, Salvador Guerrero Chiprés, revealed that 679 apllications and web pages that grant cash loans have been found, with few requirements, but who subsequently resort to extorrtion, fraud and even “doxing” to charge non agreed interest and shorten payment terms. Of that universo, at least 309 are still active, while the rest were able to unsubscribe or change their name, on August 23, 2022, in an interview for Aristegui en Vivo, Mrs. Romina C. was one of the many victims and He explained that it was through an advertisement of Facebook that he found the “Ok credit” application, in which he requsted 2,500 pesos. Before the credit was deposited, they asked for acces to his contact list and photo gallery on his cell pone, tolos that the extortionists later used to collect more money from him and increase his debt to more tan 15,000 pesos
“They were threats against me, my family and I was about to lose my job: Romina C., victim of “montadeudas”, since thay said she sold my daughters”.
On August 24, 2022, in the Aristegui news, he pointed out that the “montadeudas” applications grand online loans apparently without guarantees and with low interest, but without prior notice thay change the conditions, so they become unpayable and extort tha victims via WhatsApp with deadth threats and dissemination of intimate photos.

Data presented by Salvador Guerrero Chiprés, head of the Citizen Council for Security and Justice, details the crime has been increasing, since in 2021 tha monthly average of reports was 275, while for 2022 it is 972. Util August 16 the daily average was 48 reports, the majority of extorted people are women (58.2%), while the telephone reports received by the council are mostly in México City.
